The Site

Catharine H. Murray, author and editor, will be provide instruction on the craft and practice of writing. Catharine has helped hundreds of students find their voices through writing. Her memoir Now You See the Sky (Akashic Books, 2018) topped Portland’s best-seller list for non-fiction the month after it was released. Venues for workshops and lectures have included Ocean Park Writers Conference, Stonecoast Writing Program, Harvard University, and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Kecia Walker Ford, internist, bio-chemical engineer, physicist, mother and hostess, will provide plentiful food, wine and her signature hospitality.

Friday

EVENING

5-6 pm ARRIVE Wine and nibbles before dinner. Meet and mingle with the rest of the group, enjoy in the view and the fabulous company. 

 6-7 pm Dinner 

7-8 pm Gather for Introduction to the Art of Memoir

8-9 pm Stay to socialize if you so desire. 

9 pm head home or to your hotel

Saturday

MORNING 

8-9  Light breakfast buffet, coffee and tea 

9-12  Writing Instruction, Discussion and Practice:  The Transformative Work of Memoir

AFTERNOON

12 – 1 Lunch buffet 

1-2 Writing Instruction, Discussion and Practice

2-4 Rest Time. Enjoy a walk on the beach, a nap on the sofa or conversation with the other writers.

EVENING

6-7 Dinner 

7-9 Socializing over dessert and wine, coffee, tea.
